NEW THIS YEAR
This year the race has partnered with local non-profit agencies including:, DIAL/SELF Youth & Community Services and Forest Moon. We are encouraging runners, especially 3K runners, to consider collecting pledges/donations for this great charity as part of their race experience.
DIAL/SELF provides a broad range of services that foster youth empowerment by meeting basic needs, by creating opportunities for youth, and by advocating for youth interests. Services include a Transitional Living Program, Street Outreach, Drop-in Centers, Life Skills, Housing Assistance, Clinical Support, AmeriCorps, CommonwealthCorps, Volunteer Center and the RISE Program. Go to www.dialself.org to learn more about the great programs this agency is providing and how to help.
Founded by two cancer survivors in 2004, Forest Moon is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides free and low-cost support programs to people living with cancer and their families and friends. Forest Moon offers retreats and workshops in rural Vermont, New Hampshire and Massachusetts; all programs introduce participants to evidence-based activities that have been shown to improve the quality of life for cancer survivors. www.forestmoon.org
During event registration you can choose to make a donation and/or create a fundraisng page that you can direct people to.
* All runners must be paid-up members of USATF as of 8/1/10 to be award eligible. |
