Call for Entries, Bridge of Flowers Road Race Tee Shirt Design
(Shelburne Falls, Mass.) The Bridge of Flowers 10 k Road Race is announcing a challenge to artists: a competition to create a new design for the official 2010 race tee-shirt.
All designs must be submitted to specification and received by August 6th, 2009. Designs should be scaled to fit on the front of a tee shirt and must include the words, “2010,” “Bridge of Flowers Classic” and “Shelburne Falls Massachusetts” somewhere in the design. Complete design specifications, along with an entry form will be available at the Bridge of Flowers Road Race web site: www.bridgeoflowers10k.com.
According to race director, Mike McCusker, “A design competition fits with our racing tradition and offers a good way to stir the creative juices and involve our many area artists in this community event.”
The tee shirt design competition entries will be displayed at the pre-race spaghetti fest and exhibited in the windows of Molly Cantor Pottery in Shelburne Falls in August, and will be on display during this year’s Bridge of Flowers Road Race on August 8th. Community members, visitors, and race participants will be encouraged to cast ballots for their favorite entries. The final selection of the winning design will be made by jury. The design competition is sponsored by Greenfield-based Silver Screen Design It is open to artists of all ages and all communities. A $200 cash commission will be awarded to the winning artist. The winning artist will also have the satisfaction of creating the distinctive Year 2010 image for Shelburne Falls, and having his or her design proudly displayed on the chest-front billboard space of runners, race volunteers, local residents and visitors to the Shelburne Falls area.
